Android's Pros and Cons That You Should Know Before Getting Your New Android Phone: new android tablet

Having a smart phone that uses the Android system in your hand is like having the world on the tip of your fingers. If you are not yet familiar with the term 'Android', it is an operating system for smart phones and tablets that allows you to run many applications on your smart phone or tablets. One of the main reasons why phones and tablets using the Android system have been a market leader is that Android allows the users to develop their own applications by having developers write applications that can extend the function of the phones or tablets. However, before you decide to get a new Android phone or a new Android tablet, it is always best to investigate the pros and cons.

Using an Android phone or tablet will give you the freedom to experiment with the latest mobile phone technology. You can develop any applications that you like, or simply just use the great applications that are already available. Android is best used by those who love to update to and experiment with the latest application technology. If you are not that type of person, your Android might not be utilized fully if you cannot be bothered to learn to do these various technical things with your phone or tablet. Secondly, when it comes to choices, Android is available from several manufacturers. Of the renowned brands, HTC Android is still at the top. Besides smart phones and tablets, Android also comes with more specific devices such as media players and devices designed specifically for reading purposes. The wide variety of choices will surely confuse you. You need to investigate the benefits and downsides of each device and each brand. You might also want to consider buying an Android phone that is associated with a particular service provider. However, it is not possible to change from one provider to another with those types of phones. In some cases it may be possible, but the modification could be expensive.

The last important thing you need to do when you have an Android phone or tablet is to always upgrade the software. If not, your Android will not be up to date, since Android releases software upgrades on a frequent basis. The cons from doing software upgrades is that upgrading to new software versions will require support from the providers and manufacturers, and that might or might not happen. Thus, people instead change from one Android phone to newer one with the latest software version, from the earliest 1.5 version to 2.3, named Gingerbread, since upgrading might or might not be possible.

Understanding the pros and cons of Android operating system will help you to make a decision before getting a new Android phone. Renowned brands such as HTC Android will be very useful if you know how to take advantage of the pros and avoid or overcome the cons.

Everything You Need To Know About Tablet PCs

Everything You Need To Know About Tablet PCs: notebook tablet pc

The Tablet PC is very much like a traditional laptop, but with a few major points of difference. Unlike a laptop, these computers boast newer technologies such as touch screens and swiveling screens.

These computers can give you a better mobile computing alternative, letting you stay connected wherever and whenever you need to be. Wherever the traditional laptop is not always practical, the Tablet PC is ready and able to step in to fill the gap.

What Makes The Tablet PC So Different From Traditional Laptops?

A traditional laptop features a compact screen, keyboard and some form of mouse - in essence, it resembles an all in one PC. At one time, this was the latest and greatest development in computing technologies.

For the traveling businessperson, this was a boon, allowing him or her to stay in touch with the office, or even take their office on the road with them. Anything that can be done with a desktop PC can be done with a laptop computer.

The tablet PC however, offers even more in the way of mobile computing features and gives even greater access to anything you need on the road. There is even a choice of forms when opting for a tablet PC: Slate or Convertible.

A Convertible has a keyboard and swiveling screen, meaning it can either look like (and be used like) a traditional laptop, or the screen can be folded over the keyboard to create a more compact mobile computing solution. A Slate, on the other hand looks like nothing so much as it does a flat screen monitor, featuring no keyboard.

Mobility is a big factor here. Whether standing, sitting or even walking, you can continue working on a tablet PC regardless.

Another wonderful mobility feature of these PCS is built in voice recording. Just talk to your computer - go ahead, everyone knows you're just recording a voice memo! New touch screen technologies mean you can "write" on your screen with a specialized stylus in lieu of the keyboards found on other computers.

Whether you need to fill out forms or just doodle in your idle moments, just pull out your stylus and get to the task at hand!

How Does The Touch Screen Work?

A tablet PC has a touch sensitive screen which can be operated via the tablet pen, or with one's fingertips.

Completely obviating the need for keyboard or mouse, a touch screen can handle any kind of input needed for your computing. And with convertible models, you can of course merely fold the keyboard back out and work with your tablet PC at a desk.

One of the most interesting features of tablets is the ability to "draw" right on the screen, which is great for graphic artists and the easily bored alike.

Even without the specialized stylus, one can work with a tablet PC. Just use your fingertips instead, noting could be simpler!

How Does The Swivel Screen Work?

A standard feature on convertible tablet PC models, this feature allows you the flexibility to work at a desk, or even when you have significantly less space.

Tablet PC Swivel Demo

Until the screen is swiveled, the convertible tablet PC looks and works like any other laptop. That is until you swivel the screen, at which point you have an electronic legal pad of sorts.

In this configuration, you are just dealing with a touch screen monitor. The screen folds down to cover the keyboard, as if it was never there.

When activated, the tablet PC will automatically make the configuration changes needed to operate in tablet mode.

Comparing Price

A tablet PC is more expensive than a traditional laptop, which thanks to the ever dropping cost of computers, can be quite reasonable.

Keep in mind when shopping for a tablet PC that you will be paying at least $ 300 more than for a comparable laptop model, depending on the brand and features.

A Tablet PC will start at a price of around $ 1,600 and run as much as $ 2,500 depending on make and model. If you require, or just desire a computer which offers the most in convenience and mobility, a tablet PC may well be for you.

Would you like to banish your keyboard and mouse, and just take notes on your screen with a pen, or even your fingers? Would a computer which can take notes by voice control be helpful to you?

If the answer to these questions was yes, then you need to at the very least look into the purchase of a tablet PC for your business or home use.

Over the past couple of years, since Apple company created the iPad Tablet PC, the earth's initial slate tablet computer that sold in tens on millions units, something other companies only imagined; all people have shown interest on Tablet Computers. Likely the Android machines are now the best purchased rival for the all mighty ipad from apple. There are many screen sizes nevertheless the best sold varieties tend to be the 7 Inch and Ten inch PC Tablets. On this page we'll take a peek at the very best Seven Inch Slate Tablets, the most popular size which takes into account mobility and performance, whilst staying valued exactly where clients want them.

I don't want to enter into an excess of advertising and marketing particulars so I'll get to purpose of this informative article: presenting you to the what exactly you need to know when you arrange the next Slate Tablet acquisition. Why is it important to organize before you decide is really because you wish to make the most out of your capital and make sure you aren't choosing a product that won't suit your demands. Here is the sort of tutorial that you can take in depth, with determination and follow the instructions accurately. This way I guarantee you'll be pleased with your own PC Tablet purchase. It also works with almost every other type of electronics, not only Slate Tablets.

Selecting the best Tablet PC form factor

This is certainly tip # 1 and usually means ensuring that you're seeking the right form factor for your upcoming Tablet Computer. Tiny screen and will also be injuring the eyes on the long-term simply because pixels are too small. Screen too big and you'll be moving around a big gadget that'll put a strain upon your muscle so be sure to go to a neighboring retail store that has several Slate Tablets displayed and then determine what sort of PC Tablet size is of interest more for your requirements. Observing is believing, as they say. You also need to know what will be the general function of using this PC Tablet: should it be for entertainment, or business, checking out your Facebook account and the like. I'd dump 5 " and 12 " Tablet Computers from the beginning. You will be left off at this point with 10 inches and 7 inches, so if you've opted for just a 7Inch Tablet Computer please read on tips on how to decide which one you should buy.

Set up your budget

Let's get to step number two: what kind of money you will commit in your subsequent (or first) PC Tablet. This can be one of the most important aspect to ensure you don't surpass your spending budget. Me personally I would also try and ensure I know how much extra cash I'd personally be willing to elevate that amount of money to be able to deal with the situation when the preferred 7" Tablet Computer falls short of one's maximum sum of money. There is a price to pay to be future immune, and it can be accomplished, as the first tablet buyers have demostrated, with the iPad Tablet Computer staying still quick enough to get things done, two years after its initial introduction.

Use the internet and then determine what Tablets selling the most

This is my very first significant trick: in case you read listings on the net you will simply be getting some kind of biased opinion in terms of the PC Tablets in fact well worth your hard earned dollar. This is when widely used wisdom is important: explore important websites what are the most popular devices on the 7" PC Tablet section and work things out by cross referencing all of them with the budget and display size you've set on the 1st and 2nd phase. It will be easier using this method to cut back the sheer numbers of best 7 Inch Tablets to lower than 10, preferably 5.

Deciding to go with one Tablet PC product

This might be the last step in your endeavour: pick the best Seven Inch Slate Tablet product according to precisely what real people who've bought tablets say about their purchase. It's the easy technique of doing it, by reading numerous user testimonials from the aforementioned web stores. Sort by bad ones to start with and find out what people that experienced difficulties with your 7Inch PC Tablet have to say about it. This is the best way to ensure you're not receiving a bad product, one thing you'll have to live with throughout the season, or even the next year(s), since I am certain you won't get burned off two times by jumping all over again in the bet of obtaining the most desirable 7" Tablet Computer.

I know from my experience that big companies like Apple and Amazon always try to secure their ground by eliminating the competition little by little. I was surprised to see Apple don't doing anything in the tablet market, where the competition is coming closer and closer each day, eating into the iPad's market share.

That was until the announcement of the new iPad, the third generation, which will obliterate the competition in the premium niche. At the same time the iPad 2 was kept to compete with the rest of the pack, including cheap Android tablets, a market that was booming this past Christmas.

AllTouchtablet.com has a post about current best cheap Android tablets you should look for while they'll still be here. By the looks of it Apple is trying to build itself a monopoly when it comes to slate tablets. Can't blame them, considering they were the first with a touch screen tablet.
Are Cheap Android Tablets Worth in the Current iPad Situation?
If you are like most people you don't like spending your hard earned cash on more expensive products if it's not necessary. That's what most people feel when having to buy a slate tablet. In the past two years, dominated by the all mighty iPad in the premium tablet segment, the consumers who couldn't afford to pay 500 bucks for a 10 inch slate always looked for cheap Android tablets, which are priced considerably lower, in the 100 to 200 $ bracket, and some of the models there are quite good.

The one I like most is the Barnes and Noble Nook tablet, a 7 inch form factor slate, with a custom user interface built on to of Android. Why I like it is that it costs a little bit under $ 200 and comes with pretty high end features: dual core CPU, high res 7" display and can be rooted and dual booted with a special build SD card that boots a fully featured Android operating system install.

The other options must be the Amazon Kindle Fire and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus, both 7 inch slates, but best in their class of price (200 and $ 250 respectively). The first one is a customized Android experience while the second model is more of a default Android Honeycomb configuration (probably upgradable to Android 4.0 ICS). I highly recommend you look up these two other affordable 7 inch tablets.
