Nokia N810 Portable Internet Tablet - An Honest Review

Nokia N810 Portable Internet Tablet - An Honest Review :

I am one those gadget enthusiasts that believes that there is no such thing as 'too small' when it comes to personal gadgets. Functionality without the compromise of portability, in my opinion is one of the pinnacles of human accomplishments. Although the tiny little netbooks (mini-laptops) does a pretty good job at surfing the internet and performing basic computing needs, I thought to myself "Wouldn't it be great if there was something smaller". After some research, I came across the Nokia N810 Portable Internet Tablet, which is a cell phone, PDA, and internet browser among many other things.

Internet-ready cell phones are not something new, but most of the phones in the market today have small screens and touch-screen keyboards that are by no means conducive for surfing the internet. Not only does the Nokia N810 Portable Internet Tablet has a large 4.1-inch display and a slide-out keypad, it has a little stand behind then phone that tilts it at an angle so that you can sit back and view the display by resting it on a table.

The Nokia N810 Portable Internet Tablet runs on a Mozilla based browser and supports many applications such as Google Talk, Skype and Gizmo.

It has 2GB of built-in memory and also a memory card slot in case you need to use additional storage. There is also a set of powerful speakers that produces crisp and clear stereo sounds. It can last up to 4 hours with continuous usage and almost 10 hours of music playback. It supports a large variety of audio and video formats, including Flash videos so you watch YouTube on this device.

The Nokia N810 Portable Internet Tablet is first and foremost an internet browser, media player, a phone, PDA and then a GPS navigator.

Internet surfing on this device is just a dream as it detects wi-fi very well and is very responsive. I did not experience any lag even when browsing graphic intensive websites and running several applications. The GPS feature works pretty well too (for a phone based navigator). All in all the Nokia N810 Portable Internet Tablet scores pretty well as a cell-phone internet browser, probably one of the better ones in the market. If you are looking for a device that is mainly a portable internet device (rather than a phone), this is the perfect model for you.
