Google Nexus One Review

Google Nexus One Review: google nexus one review

The battle for supremacy in the league of the high-end smart phones has begun. Google was not into the business of mobile phones, but now it has entered into the arena and its first attempt seems to be a super success. Google has just released its much awaited Nexus One, the big daddy of all super smart phones available in the market. Google Nexus One has gone ahead of Apple iPhone and Motion's BlackBerry in terms of the touch sensitivity, features and applications. The Google phone is arguably the best Android mobile phone available in the market today.

This Android smart phone by Google looks beautiful and sleek. Google has decided to offer this new mobile phone in a unique manner. The mobile phone is available to the customers on the web directly and unlocked. The company has also invited numerous carriers to compete with their plans and hardware's subsidized versions in different parts of the world. In the United Kingdom, Vodafone has won the race as it has been selected as the carrier of the mobile phone. There are numerous followers of Vodafone services and they will be very happy to get the best handset of present times with their favorite carrier.

The display feature of Nexus One is its biggest highlight. The mobile phone has incorporated huge 3.7 inches wide screen, which is a WVGA AMOLED touch screen. The display resolution of the touch screen is 800 x 480 pixels, and it offers 100,000:1 typical contrast ratio. There are four major keys at the bottom of the display screen to control search, home, menu and back functionalities. There is a trackball at the bottom center position of Nexus 1, which will enable you to enjoy smooth navigation of the features and application. The device is available in the market in gorgeous brown colour with Teflon coating and its live wallpapers give an awesome experience.

Apart from bringing in immaculate touch screen display and slim design with 119 x 59.8 x 11.5 mm dimensions, the Nexus One incorporates the high-end camera features as well. This Google phone comes loaded with a 5 mega pixel camera that includes LED flash and auto focus along with geo tagging and smile detections features. The resolution of the clicked images is 2560Ñ...1920 pixels. There is no secondary camera and the video recording is done at D1 (720x480 pixels) @min. 20 fps. Google Nexus One is definitely the best of them all!

  1. Very unimpressed with phone. Verizon wireless offers this as a replacement if they dont have your phone in stock (if it needs to be replaced under warranty). very cool at first with nice features and good display although battery life is HORRIBLE and constant loss of reception is good areas. Randomly drops call or will not send texts.

  2. Locked and unlocked phones are technically the same except one feature - SIM card compatibility.

"Locked" phones are ones you get by a contract with some service provider (AT&T, Orange, Telenor etc.) which means that only their SIM card will work on that device.

Unlike them, unlocked phones are basically unlocked, and will work with any SIM card given, no matter what provider it is.

Unlocked phones are bought via retailers, while purchase of locked ones is most commonly a 2-year contract.

  9. Google should have stuck with HTC for the Nexus devices. I really like HTC's build quality, and Samsung's plastic feel is a big turn-off for me.

  13. Unlocked phones work on all networks, unlike phones you get with different service providers (AT&T etc.) Unlocked phones come with full retail price (I think Nexus One is less than $300) and you don't have any contract with it, you just use it normally. If I'm wrong, pardon me.
