Launch of the Innovative Adam - Android-Based Tablet PC: android 23 tablet
The recent launch of the Tablet PC by Apple - having functions similar to other products, like the iPhone and iPod Touch - is not likely to be sufficient enough to retain its distinct Apple brand perception when Notion Ink has announced the launch of its android-based Tablet, the Adam, which supposedly has superior features.
Adam sports an external dimension of 6.3 x 9.8 x 0.6 inches and is an extremely sleek, well-designed, and stylish Tablet PC that tips the scales at 1.7 pounds, as opposed to the 1.5-pound model released by Apple. It was officially revealed at the world mobile congress techno festival recently held in Barcelona.
Based on NVIDIA's Tegra 2 architecture technology, and powered by the Dual Core ARM Cortex A9 CPU hitting 1 GHz, this Android based Tablet PC has competitive features that can not only match the specifications of Apple's iPad but also better it in some aspects. Graphic display of 10-inch pixel Q1 provide a maximum resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. What also stands out in this device is the variety, which is its inbuilt e-paper mode and a trans reflective mode allowing it to be used in normal sunlight as well.
Another unique feature of the Adam is its higher battery life that stands at 16 hours without requiring a recharge and which gets enhanced to a mammoth 160 hours if the backlight is turned off. This exceeds the iPad's power storage capabilities by a substantial margin and does exceed our expectations. Or does it whet our appetite for more?
With Adam, you also have the option to go for an Operating System of your choice, such as UNIX, Linux, Google's Android, and various other operating systems. Another advantage with the Adam is the excellent use of an open source platform like the Android. Further, Adam is also a 3G enabled tablet pc.
What else? It supports Blue tooth, has an inbuilt 3 mega pixel camera with auto focusing functions, seamless wi-fi connectivity, and can be connected to as many as 3 USB devices. Adobe flash player 10.1 is built in to the system making it multimedia friendly while surfing the Net. Exciting panoramic photographs can be shot with the 3 Meg camera that boasts of 180 degree swiveling feature.
All in all, a must buy gadget that has extraordinary features and complies with industry level specifications, though you will have to wait till June to lay your hands on one.
