  12. Here are a few models:
    - Lenovo Thinkpad X201
    - HP TC4400 (the one i have, fits all factors from my previous post), or TC4200
    - HP Elitebook 2730p (newer/faster than the TC4400)
    - Toshiba Portege M200/M400 (M400 is newer, M200 has a hi-res screen, but not AFFS)
    - HP Touchsmart TM2 (excellent and light, but not enough buttons)
    - Fujitsu T4010/T4020D (great but kinda old)
    - Motion Computing LS800 (almost all TPC's of this brand are awesome, but expensive)
    - IBM X41 (also kinda old)

  13. What you need to look for is (sorted by importance):
    1. Pressure support - if it uses an EMR stylus than it probably has it. The tabletPC's that don't are usually touch-only and you should forget about those. You don't need touch support.
    2. It needs to have at least 2 programmable buttons on their screen, because you will need them to zoom/pan/rotate the canvas like with the Cintiqs.
    3. An AFFS (IPS) screen to ensure that the image looks the same from all viewing angles.

  14. How would you connect a desktop graphics card?

    ReplyDelete
  15. It's an "expresscard". It can connect external units to the PCIe. In other words, you could connect a desktop graphic card and the 3D performance will increase enormously (could be 20 times or more)!
